Police and soldiers are meant to protect the country not shooting at each other

Nine police officers from the Gorontalo Police Mobile Brigade have been named suspects in a shootout with the military that left one soldier dead.

They have been detained and charged with a criminal offence, he said, adding that they also violated a professional ethics code.

Of their dismissal, he said: “We’ll have to wait for the court proceedings.”

“We’re speeding up the process of completing their dossiers,” he added. “The ballistics process is also still under way.”

It is money, money, money, money and more money

An Indonesian woman is demanding Rp 45 billion from her former husband, a New Zealand businessman, to release their intellectually impaired adult son, who she has chained to a bed in her home in Surabaya, a report said.

The New Zealand Herald reported that despite the issue being raised during Prime Minister John Key’s recent trip to Indonesia, and visits by New Zealand embassy staff and Indonesian Immigration officials to Yuhanie Marisa Latinia’s home, Simon Donaldson, 26, had not been freed.

Simon Donaldson, 26, is a New Zealand citizen and technically an illegal overstayer in Indonesia. He reportedly suffers from leukodystrophy, which causes deteriorating motor skills and bouts of dementia, and is being held against his will.

Father David Donaldson was reportedly awarded sole custody of the former couple’s five adult children when they separated 20 years ago.

The Herald reported that Yuhanie has “demanded more than $6 million (Rp 45 billion) for Simon’s release, saying his sickness is the result of magic brought about by her ex-husband and that he should pay.”

Yuhanie, who has posted a photograph on her Facebook page directing a threat at her former husband, would not comment when contacted by the paper.

Never be late for your marriage or you may lose your bride

A bridegroom in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh learnt a lesson in punctuality for the rest of his life after he ended up late for his own wedding, only to see that his bride had been married to someone else.

The groom, who is known by the name of Jameel, was to marry his bride at 10.30 am on April 19. Yet he arrived at the venue at six in the evening, keeping his bride’s family waiting for a good eight hours late.

Afterwards, and instead of finding his loving bride awaiting him, which would have been the case had he been on time, Jameel and his wedding party got trashed by his bride’s family with fists and blows until the police intervened to stop the scuffle.

Being late for his own wedding proved costly for a bridegroom as he and his relatives were beaten up by irked family members of the bride who was married off to another person.

After the police pacified the situation, the bride’s family married their daughter to another man, leaving Jameel not only beaten and bruised, but also heartbroken.

It should be mentioned that It is not uncommon in India for a bride and groom not to have seen each other until the day of the wedding, with the pair being arranged by the respective families. However, while the traditions are changing, in parts of rural India it continues to remain unchanged.

Indonesia's National Police have washed their hands of the controversial arrest on Tuesday of 10 employees of a newspaper in Sumedang, West Java, saying any punishment against the district police chief must come from the provincial police.

Brig. Gen. Muhammad Taufik, a National Police spokesman, acknowledged on Wednesday that the order by Sumedang Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Eka Bakti Satria to arrest the Sumedang Ekspres staff was “not the right move,” but added that the West Java Police would be handling the fallout.

“It was not the right move because it wasn’t in line with an agreement signed in February between the National Police chief and the Press Council [on legal protection for journalists],” he  said. “But whether there are any sanctions, disciplinary action or ethics reviews [against Eka], I don’t know. We’ve left the case up to the West Java Police as the party with the authority to decide on any punishment.”

The controversy centers on the arrest of the newspaper employees during a parade to mark the 343rd anniversary of the founding of Sumedang on Tuesday.

The Ekspres, which took part in the parade, had decked out its car with poster-sized copies of some of its previous headlines, one of which read “Oknum Polisi Ngamuk” (“Rogue Police Officer Goes Berserk”). The story was from the paper’s April 4 edition, covering a story on police violence.

The car followed the parade route through the main town square, passing in front of a podium where Eka was seated alongside other top district officials.

Eka then ordered his men to stop the car and arrest the crew.

How to control unruly crowds, Indonesian style

Some 33,000 police and military officers have been deployed nationwide, with some saying they would stop at nothing to maintain order, but thousands took to the country’s streets on Tuesday anyway to protest the proposed fuel price hike.

But it was music rather than menace that proved the more effective tactic for dispersing demonstrators in East Java.

The Madiun district Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) put on a live dangdut and reog ponogoro (traditional Javanese lion dance) show ahead of the massive demonstration being staged there by the opposition Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

Just minutes after the protest’s organizer took the microphone to begin his rally speech, a majority of the protesters began turning their attention instead to the live show.

“Even though some of the protesters are busy dancing and enjoying the entertainment provided, deep down we are all still rejecting the central government’s plan to raise the [subsidized] fuel prices in April,” said Subari, the protest’s coordinator and secretary of the local PDI-P branch.

The protest lasted two hours, with most of the demonstrators disbanding by noon - Jakarta Globe

Court 26 of the Subordinate Courts was unusually packed yesterday afternoon.

About 100 people squeezed in to attend the session in which a group of 44 men were charged for allegedly paying to have sex with a girl under 18 years old.

Among those charged was Lee Lip Hong, 39, the former principal of Pei Chun Public School, who arrived alone.

Lee told the court that he didn't plan to engage a lawyer. And when the day comes, he said he would plead guilty.

After the session, he didn't bother to shield his face from the media as he left the Subordinate Courts building.

But many of the other accused - which included Mindef officers, businessmen and finance industry professionals - were armed with a range of disguises to escape the photographers.

The website where the men obtained the girl's services was allegedly run by Tang Boon Thiew, who runs an online marketing company. He was charged in November and his case is ongoing.

Men only: If you want US$1.3 million, here's your chance

A Saudi woman is offering SR5 million to get married — even if it is a misyar marriage (the couple lives separately and see each other to fulfill their needs when they please).

The woman has conditions which she will not reveal now. The main thing is that the new husband must “appreciate marriage life.”

The woman published her offer in the Saudi Arabic language magazine Roa, which and said she encouraged potential suitors to apply by e-mail or fax.

“Applicants should provide their contact number so the woman will contact them in case she agrees on the marriage,” the magazine said.

It quoted the woman as saying:”It does not matter whether the new husband is attracted to my money as the most important thing is that he must appreciate marriage life and marital duties … I am even ready to accept a misyar marriage and pay him SR5 million at once … he will live with me in my villa and must accept all my conditions which I will reveal to him later.”

The magazine said the woman was married before but that she divorced her husband because he “was greedy and wanted only money.”

“I made the wrong choice first time … I want to make the right choice now … my main obsession now is to marry … I am desperate to marry,” the woman said.

Misyar is permitted in Saudi Arabia and under Islam, though, misyar is not popular with many who see it as legalized prostitution.

Women lose nearly all their rights in a misyar marriage and nearly 80 percent of misyar relationships end in divorce.

There has been no follow up on the reply at press time.

How to stop your children from getting addicted to online games

An irate Cambodian father chained his teenage son by the neck to a power pole to punish him for skipping school to play online games, police said Thursday.

The 13-year-old's public ordeal came to an end in under two hours when neighbours alerted the police who brought in a locksmith to free the child.

"The father was so angry that he found his son at an Internet cafe instead of at school that he chained him up in public for people to see, to teach him a lesson," Battambang deputy police chief Cheth Vanny told AFP, adding that the boy said he was also beaten by his father.

The 40-year-old father, Sok Thoeun, who works as a motorbike taxi driver, fled the scene after the incident Tuesday in the northern town of Battambang, and is now wanted on child abuse charges.

"He is still on the run," the official said. "This kind of torture is not acceptable."

Impoverished Cambodia's Internet usage rate is among the lowest in southeast Asia, with less than 1.5 percent of its 14 million people listed as Internet subscribers in 2010, according to government statistics.

But as more Internet cafes have sprung up in urban areas in recent years, the popularity of online gaming has soared among the country's teenagers, most of whom have no Internet access at home - AFP

Don't hide your manhood between your thighs... especially not from your wife

A Lusaka Local court has heard that a Chongwe man denies his wife sex by "carefully 'folding' his manhood and hiding it in between his thighs." This came to light in a case in which 32-year-old Maureen Lupangala of Mutendere sued her husband Gasper Nyangu, 40 for failing to fulfil bedroom duties to her as wife. Married in 1998 with three children together, the couple has been on separation for nearly a month now. The court heard that the two went on separation last month after Nyangu chased Lupangala from their matrimonial home after she reported her to his family and in church that he was not giving her sex.

But Nyangu caused laughter in the court when he insisted saying that he chased Lupangala would be wrong because he just sent her back to her parents so that she can be taught about the things that can be and cannot be said in public. Lupangala told the court that although she's been alive for 30 plus years, she'd never heard or seen something about a husband starving his wife of sex by hiding his manhood between his thighs until Nyangu did it to her.

"I've had problems-most of the time but since I was born I've never heard of a man hiding away his manhood from his wife. Each time we go to bed, I could see my husband carefully 'folding' and hiding his manhood in between his thighs. He then would close his legs tightly making it very impossible for me to pull it [manhood] out. I've tried so many times to pull his manhood out of the thighs when I thought he was asleep, but as soon as I touch it, he would scream and immediately wake up "

"Last month, he packed my bags and escorted me back to my father's home. He told them that he would come and collect me after a year. But this stunned my dad and me as well. I don't know what I did to sent back home in that manner. All I know is that on the night before I was chased out of the house, I bit his hand as I was trying to pull out his manhood and he was using his hand to push my mouth away from his manhood," she alleged. And in his defence testimony, Nyangu who admitted to denying Lupangala sex for several months but said it is unfair for her to drag him to court for sex.

"I have told her over and over again that as a Head of the house, I decide when, how and how many times sex is to be done in my house. She puts me in a lot of problems because if you give her sex for 10 minutes, she will demand an hour...two hours...the whole night.., the whole week and even everyday. So, your Honour, how in the world can you enjoy sex with a woman like that?" he wondered.

"I thought by denying her sex, she would start thinking like a normal woman but all efforts have gone in vain. What kind of a man can have sex every time, all time"

Don't show your girlfriend's b**bs on the internet if you are a wanted man

A HACKER who published the personal details of hundreds of police officers was unmasked — by a picture of his girlfriend’s BOOBS.

The FBI swooped on Higinio O Ochoa III after he posted the snap, which included a gloating message to his online victims.

He took the picture on his iPhone and posted it on Twitter — without realising it contained GPS data pointing directly to his house.

Photos taken on smartphones and some digital cameras automatically attach location co-ordinates to picture files.

The snap posted by 30-year-old Ochoa shows a girl in a bikini top from the neck down, with a printed message pinned to her skirt reading: “PwNd by w0rmer & CabinCr3w”.

“Pwnd” is internet slang for “owned” — meaning beaten or humiliated.

Researching the username “w0rmer”, investigators also found a reference online which included Ochoa’s full name.

Using this information, investigators quickly established which door they should be knocking on — on a housing estate in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia.

After staking out his home for several days, authorities stormed the house on March 20 and arrested him.

He was taken to an FBI office in Houston, Texas, US, where he paid a $50,000 bail

Ochoa, originally from Texas, had hacked into the websites of American law enforcement agencies and published personal information of police officers, including their home addresses and mobile phone numbers.

He is allegedly a member of CabinCr3w, an offshoot of the Anonymous hacking collective, which was also responsible for leaking confidential information from Goldman Sachs executives in September 2011.

If you want sex forever, get this woman's phone number

A desperate man got more than he bargained for when he embarked on a one night stand.

He was forced to escape onto a balcony before calling police for back-up after his new-found lover refused to let him go - because she wanted more sex.

The 43-year-old struck up a relationship with the woman, who is four years older than him, in a bar in Munich, Germany, on Monday night.

According to German news site The Province, she took him back to her apartment where they had sex several times.

But when the woman demanded more, the exhausted man said no.

A police spokesman said: 'He complied with the woman's wishes another few times so he could finally leave the apartment.

'But when she continued to refuse and demanded even more sex from him, he fled to the balcony and alerted the police.'

If that wasn't enough, when officers arrived she even tried to lure them into her den.

She is now facing possible charges of sexual assault and illegal restraint - dailymail.co.uk

Kill my mother but don't touch the family dog

This Russian teenager is all heart.

The 16-year-old ordered a hit on her own mother after she was banned from having boyfriends, but she instructed the would-be assassin not to lay a finger on the family dog.

The girl also toyed with the idea of having her father murdered, RIA Novosti reported overnight. She decided against it, however, fearing for the loss of his income - and presumably her pocket money.

The case was revealed by court officials in the northern Arctic Circle city of Vorkuta, where the girl was arrested last week.

She reportedly approached a friend to carry out the contract killing, promising him 14,000 rubles ($470) to ensure her 34-year-old mum met with a quick and painless demise.

"When discussing the job with her friend, the girl specifically insisted that he not harm her dog, which she loved a lot, during the shootout," a local prosecutor told RIA Novosti.

The plan unravelled when the friend got cold feet and contacted police.

The teenager is currently in custody and faces up to 13 years in prison if charged and convicted with preparing a contracted murder, the state-owned news agency said - NewsCore

Hijab and bare bra do not mix

An art student who wears Muslim headdress is defending her right to freedom of expression after a photo she snapped was removed from public display at a British Columbia university.

The large black and white print depicts a woman in full Islamic scarf and cloak holding a flower-embossed bra while folding laundry.

Sooraya Graham produced the image and presented it earlier this year for a class assignment as part of her fine arts degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Not long after it had been hung in the school hallway, she overheard a woman who also wears a head scarf saying she had peeled the artwork off the wall.

That decision inadvertently put the photograph into greater public view, and has now generated debate about cultural misconceptions, community representation and censorship.

"I have a lot to express," Graham said in an interview Thursday, explaining she wanted to remind people that Muslim women wear undergarments too.

"Even though some people want to silence those thoughts or make them go away, we live in Canada where as long as we're not hurting another individual we have that right to express ourselves."

The 24-year-old photographer, who grew up in small town Northern B.C. and has been studying at the B.C. Interior institution for several years, said the reaction was unexpected.

"I found it really intrusive," she said of the unilateral move to censor her work.

"There are things I encounter in the world I don't like or I don't agree with, but I would never take something down."

Convict installed as district deputy so that they can uninstall him later

Lampung Governor Sjachroedin Z.P. installed the new head of the Mesuji district and his graft convict deputy in a ceremony at a local penitentiary on Friday.

The new Mesuji district head, Khamamik, and his deputy, Ismail Ishak, elected in September of last year, were inaugurated at the Bawanglatak penitentiary in the Lampung town of Tulang Bawang.

The Justice and Human Rights Ministry would not allow the ceremony to be held outside of prison, according to Home Affairs Ministry spokesman Reydonnyzar Moenek.

“The Home Affairs Minister decree on the appointment and installment of Mesuji district head Khamamik and his deputy Ismail Ishak was issued on Dec. 20,” Reydonnyzar told The Jakarta Globe over the phone on Friday.

“After a long and complicated process, however, the ceremony can only be held today.”

Reydonnyzar said upon the installment, the ministry would soon issue an instruction for the governor to discharge Ismail from his new position. He said the ceremony should still have taken place because the ministry could only discharge officials already holding a position.

Tsunami warning system stolen in Aceh

Days after Aceh dodged a bullet when two massive earthquakes failed to trigger a potentially devastating tsunami, it emerged that the country’s tsunami early warning system has been compromised by scavengers stealing and selling its parts.

Research and Technology Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta said some of the instruments from the system had parts missing, while other instruments had just disappeared.

He said people were stealing the parts and then selling them. “There are a lot of people stealing parts from the tsunami early warning system, leading the device to malfunction,” he said.

The system includes buoys off the coast of Sumatra with sensors that can detect an approaching tsunami. Gusti said the government was working with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the US government to develop submerged devices.

“We hope that it will be safer this way. People will no longer be able to steal the parts,” he said. “We are also going to educate people about the equipment because it is essential to detect a tsunami early, and have the equipment working.” - Jakarta Globe

Saudi Arabia declares war on ........ no, not Iran but sorcery

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared war on a sworn domestic enemy: sorcery.

The daunting task of eradicating sorcery has been assigned to the Kingdom’s dreaded religious police.

Sorcery is punishable by death in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the preferred method of execution is a public beheading by sword, followed by crucifixion.

The religious police, officially known as The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, announced they have established a ‘field unit’ dedicated to ridding the kingdom of the blasphemous practice of black magic.

The perpetrators of sorcery are named as the “key causers of religious and social instability in the country.”

The new unit is headed by Sheikh Adel Al Muqbil, a religious scholar in Saudi Arabia - BM

A girl touched by djinn shed "blood tears"

An 18-year-old Egyptian girl who shed ‘blood tears’ claimed she had been touched by jinn, which are ghosts and spirits popular in Upper Egyptian folklore.

According to a report in the Arabic language quotidian, Sabea’a, a girl named Dawa’a appeared on Al Nahar Television, to share her experience.

She said she had been touched by tribe of about one-thousand jinn.

Amr Al-Laithi, a Muslim scholar, recited verses from Qur’an as the teenager fell unconscious. When she woke up after about 20 minutes, she claimed she could not remember anything but was suffering an intense headache.

The Muslim scholar explained that the jinn in this case, thankfully, were merely an external influence on the girl. And that this was because there was no change in her voice, and too, that she did she suffer from physical convulsions.

Those frightening symptoms, he asserted, are only seen in cases when jinn are internal and the victim has succumbed to total control.

Neither person was available for comment at press time.

Nor did the jinn offer a motive in their attempt to seize the girl - BM

Is there such a thing as baby factory? Yes, there is one in Nigeria

Nigerian police have raided an alleged illegal orphanage where they rescued young women thought to have been forced to bear children with the aim of selling them, a spokesman said Friday.

“We discovered the baby factory in Uruah local government area of the state during a raid following a tip-off,” assistant police superintendent Oyekachi Orji told AFP of the operation in southern Akwa Ibom state.

He said seven women between the ages of 18 and 20, including three who were pregnant, were freed from the home during the April 4 operation. No babies were discovered.

Three suspects including the owner, his wife and another accomplice were arrested, he said.

“The suspects usually lure young girls to get pregnant with a promise of 70,000 naira (340 euros, $445) after having their babies, which they sell to ritualists,” he said.

A number of such “factories” have been discovered in Nigeria, often intending to sell children to childless couples.

Human trafficking is widespread in west Africa, where children are bought from their families to work in plantations, mines and factories or as domestic help.

Others are sold into prostitution, and less commonly they are tortured or sacrificed in black magic rituals - Dawn

Cop caught masturbating on duty

A police sergeant in Santa Fe, New Mexico is in a bad situation after a video caught him masturbating while he was on duty. The video has recently been released and it was filmed by the dashboard camera of the officer’s cruiser. The video released to the media does not show the inside of the cruiser but has audio that is quite steamy. The officer in question is Sgt. Mike Eiskant.

One former officer, Shannon Brady, was not surprised at the news of the video as Brady said that Eiskant had a bad reputation as a stalker of women and a ‘creeper.’ Brady attempted to file a harassment complaint against Eiskant years ago with the Santa Fe Police Department’s human resource division.

If you want to escape from prison, get that female prison guard naked

A female prison officer was found naked in bed with an escaped inmate on March 16, 2011.

It was learnt, in an on-going court case, that police found Christine Robertson at her flat with missing “dangerous” prisoner James Holland, 40, who walked out of Castle Huntly jail last March.

Detective Constable Dean Miller, 27, told the court two officers used a battering ram to smash the front door open when intelligence suggested that Holland – who was serving an eight-year term for assault and robbery – was at Robertson’s flat.

Police officers had to shoot Holland, described as “one of Scotland’s most feared and dangerous men”, with a stun gun as he stood naked and waving a knife at them.

Miller said, "Mr Holland had to be tasered using an electronic stun gun.”

"He was quite aggressive and belligerent. Once he was subdued I pulled back the covers of the bed to reveal a female underneath."

Robertson, 45, was later taken to the spare bedroom. Miller added that the female guard was “giggling and laughing” and saying that her career was “f***ed”.

Prison officer Graham Tait, 47, told the trial that Robertson was Holland’s personal prison officer - The Star

If you deny your husband sex then you are cruel

A SPOUSE who refuses to have sex with their partner is guilty of cruelty, the Delhi High Court has ruled.

The court judge declared that denial of sex was justifiable grounds for divorce after a man said that his wife refused to sleep with him on their wedding night and only consented 10 to 15 times over a five-month period.

"The testimony of the husband that the wife was never responsive and was like a dead wood when he had sexual intercourse with her remained unrebutted," Justice Kailash Gambhir said in his verdict, the Press Trust of India reported Saturday.

Mr Gambhir continued, "It is evident that willful denial of sexual intercourse without reasonable cause would amount to cruelty."

When detectives questioned him he told them that “Satan killed the victim and that Satan was inside him,” Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Terry Clancy said in court Sunday.

Son was killed by black magic, so man killed wife

A residential society in Pune was witness to gruesome drama on Wednesday afternoon after a 30-year-old man was found to have brutally murdered his own wife. The police said that he had locked himself and his wife in his bedroom since Tuesday night, and was found sitting next to her dead body when the door was finally broken down on Wednesday.

According to the Khadak police, the incident occurred in the Excel Building in Guruwar Peth in Pune. The accused, Vikram Rasale (30) lived with his wife Swati and four-month-old daughter, while his brother Sanjay, a police constable, lived with his family in the adjoining flat on the same floor. Swati had given birth to twins — a girl and a boy — in December last year, but the boy died soon after birth, after which Vikram’s mental health slowly deteriorated.

“On Tuesday night, Vikram started saying that some black magic had killed his son and would now kill him as well. He forced Swati into the bedroom with him, locking the door from inside. Sanjay tried reasoning with him, but Vikram stayed adamant,” said an officer with the Khadak police.

By Wednesday afternoon, when Sanjay and his neighbours could no longer hear any noises from inside the room, they broke the door down. Swati was lying on the floor in a pool of blood, while Vikram was sitting some distance away. Sanjay immediately fetched a doctor, who pronounced Swati dead. Post-mortem reports indicate that her head was bashed against the wall repeatedly, and several bite marks have also been found on the body.

“Vikram keeps saying that he killed his wife, but refuses to say anything more about what exactly happened in that room. He is being subjected to psychiatric tests. We have arrested him for murder and are conducting further inquiries,” said R.L. Kadam, senior police inspector, Khadak police station.

Mob attacked "black magic" couple

The residents of Turak-apalem village of Macha-varam mandal in Guntur district beat up a couple — Shaik Talluri Babu and his wife Allabi — and tried to burn them alive after dousing them with kerosene early on Friday. The villagers suspected that the couple practised black magic and was responsible for death of children in the village. The villagers nabbed Talluri Babu and Allabi while they were praying at a local cemetery.

Talluri Babu and Allabi were residents of Turakapalem. The death of a child named Madina three days ago, gave rise to suspicion that the child was killed due to witchcraft performed by the couple. Villagers decided to watch their movements and gathered on the outskirts of the village on Thursday night.

Unaware of the presence of the villagers, the couple went to the burial ground and kept bloodstained cooked rice on the resting place of the kid Madina who was buried there three days ago. The enraged villagers then confronted them. When the couple tried to flee, the villagers beat them up severely.

The villagers hit them on the face with logs and broke Talluri Babu and Allabi’s teeth and then doused them with kerosene. Police, however, rescued the couple, held discussions with the people for five hours and convinced them to let them take the couple to a hospital.

The villagers alleged that eight children had died due to black magic. Piduguralla circle inspector Battula Srinivasa Rao and police teams from Rajupalem, Bellamkonda, Machavaram police stations rushed to Turakapalem village and pacified the angry villagers. They tried to convince them that this was only a superstition and nothing could happen with black magic. They promised to conduct an investigation into the death of children - Deccan Chronicle

Camel testifies in court

Policemen guarding a court room in Saudi Arabia tried to stop a man going in with his camel before the judge told them to let him and his animal in.

The judge had asked the farmer to bring his camel to the main hall in the court building after an old man claimed the farmer had stolen it from him.

But the farmer told the judge that he had bought the camel from another man nearly three years ago while the old man insisted it was his camel.

“Bringing the camel to court did not resolve the dispute … the judge adjourned hearings and asked the farmer to bring seller and a witness to court next time;” and this, according to the Arabic language daily, Ajel, in a report from the northern town of Tabuk - BM

Saudi man divorces wife over fake hymen

A Saudi woman wanted to give her husband a pleasant surprise on their second marriage anniversary by telling him that she was a 'virgin again' by using a artificial hymen from China.

Instead of applauding his wife, he divorced her.

They were celebrating their wedding anniversary at home in the Saudi capital in Riyadh when the woman happily revealed her 'new virginity' secret.

The man, however, was not amused. He divorced her immediately.

The Sharq daily quoted sources close to the couple as saying that the man suspected his wife of not being a virgin before their marriage as she could have used an artificial hymen then too.

The Arabic language newspaper did not identify the couple nor did it say how the woman obtained the hymen.
Such items are strictly banned in Saudi Arabia, one of the most conservative Muslim nations.

During intercourse, the artificial hymen will begin to ooze out a red liquid that looks like blood.

This chief of police should be dismembered himself and his meat distributed to stray dogs

South Korea's police chief resigned Monday following public fury at a bungled case in which a woman was raped and murdered after frantically calling police for help.

National Police Agency chief Cho Hyun-Oh said he would step down to "take all responsibility... for unpardonable carelessness" by the police and asked the victim's family for forgiveness.

"I express my deepest regret at the police's negligence which had such a horrendous result and attempts to cover it up with lies," Cho told a press conference.

The dismembered body of the 28-year-old woman was found on April 2 in the city of Suwon, south of Seoul, about 13 hours after she had called the police emergency number from her home to report a rape attempt.

She gave police a detailed location for her home before the intruder broke into her room on the evening of April 1. The phone line remained open for five more minutes, with the victim heard screaming in pain and begging for her life.

Police Monday morning found the killer, a 42-year-old Korean-Chinese immigrant worker, putting the victim's body parts into trash bags after dismembering the body at his home nearby.

Police admitted miscommunication between the emergency call centre and officers on duty as well as bureaucratic shortcomings, which led them to search the wrong area for hours.

They also admitted giving the media an exaggerated number of officers sent to check the neighbourhood after the case started to make headlines.

Cho vowed to help family members get proper state compensation. President Lee Myung-Bak will accept Cho's resignation, according to an aide quoted by Yonhap news agency.

Please f**k off, you are too stupi!

HIS is the scathing letter of rejection a recruiter sent to a job-seeker - and 4000 others - in a reply-all snafu.

Manchester-based Gary Chaplin is now seeking a new job himself after being forced to quit his job, and £200,000 salary, for his expletive-ridden message.

Manos Katsampoukas mass-mailed recruiters, a move that lit Mr Chaplin's short fuse and resulted in a nasty response, the Daily Mail reports.

But Mr Chaplin, in addition to over-stepping the mark, made the cardinal sin: he replied all.

"I think I speak for all 4000 people you have emailed when I say, 'Thanks for your CV' – it's nice to know you are taking this seriously," he said.

"Please f*** off ... you are too stupid to get a job, even in banking. Yours hitting the delete button, Have a nice day!"

Winners of the Annual 'Stella' Awards

7th Place: Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving little toddler was Ms. Robertson's son.

6th Place: 19-year-old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr. Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.

5th Place: Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr. Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found, and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of $500,000.

4th Place: Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog might have been just a little provoked at the time by Mr. Williams, who had climbed over the fence into the yard and was shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun.

3rd Place: A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument.

2nd Place: Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth. This occurred while Ms.Walton was trying to sneak through the window in the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.

1st Place: This year's runaway winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, (from an OU football game), having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back & make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mrs.Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising her in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually do this. The jury awarded her $1,750,000 plus a new motor home. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other complete morons around.

Man killed wife. Then he ate her

A frail 79-year-old man who recently emigrated from China pleaded not guilty yesterday in the brutal slaying of his elderly wife.

On Thursday, police in the quiet New England town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts found Jieming Liu in a rocking chair ‘covered in blood’ on his hands, mouth, and face in his modest condominium.

According to police, his 73-year-old wife, Yuee Zhou, was found in a rear bedroom with severe injuries to her arm, lying in a pool of blood.

Liu’s son told police that his father – who is only 5ft2 and 75 pounds - had no idea of what he was doing at the time, and kept repeating: ‘This is not your mother.’

Court records state he kept telling his son, ‘This is not your mother,’ in Mandarin Chinese.

He was charged with murder in conjunction with the gruesome death.

Mr McHugh told the court: 'He may have been eating her flesh.'

He sold a US$2.5 million painting for only US$6

This seems to be the ultimate bargain basement buy.

An original Andy Warhol painting, worth about US$2 million (S$2.5 million) was bought for about US$5.

The lucky guy who got it was art buff Andy Fields, who picked up the painting at a Las Vegas garage sale.

The painting has not been seen before in public.

The painting dates back to the 1930s, when Warhol was either 10 or 11, The Sun reported.

Father-of-one Mr Fields bought a number of paintings by the American author and painter Gertrude Stein at the garage sale.

It was only when he was getting them framed that he discovered he had also bought one of Warhol's early works.

The figure in the drawing is 1930s singer and actor Rudy Vallee.

The seller was a drug abuser who told Mr Fields that his aunt had taken care of Warhol in his youth.

Mr Fields is said to have spent weeks trying to find the man.

Bad eyesight, try Tetris

Eye specialists at Glasgow Caledonian University have developed a video game to treat a common sight problem in children.

Children who suffer from a lazy eye, or Amblyopia, can play the game instead of wearing an eye patch.

Tests suggested playing the Tetris-style game resulted in an almost immediate improvement.

Amblyopia is caused by a misalignment in the eyes or one eye focusing better than the other.

The condition affects three or four in every 100 children.

Ten-year-old Calum Stillie found his sight was much better after playing the game for just a week.

Richards pleaded guilty to three charges of indecent exposure at York Crown Court this week and could be jailed if probation officers decide he's a threat to other women.
