If you are a cop, you have that divine right to assault those who don't pay your debts
A police officer allegedly assaulted his neighbor after refusing to pay off his Rp 500,000 (US$54) debt.
An officer from Cipayung Precinct, chief Brig. Iskandar, grabbed Dedy’s t-shirt, punched and kicked his feet on Sunday at around 10 p.m. near the victim’s house in Jl. Perintis, Ceger, Cipayung of East Jakarta.
“The assailant lent his money to the victim, but the victim refused to pay him back, so the assault took place,” crime unit chief at the Jakarta Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Dian Perry said on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.
Dedy filed a report against Iskandar to the Jakarta Police on Tuesday, however the Jakarta Police handed over the case to the East Jakarta Police.
“It’s a petty crime. The perpetrator will not be detained. He will only be questioned,” Dedy said. (iwa)
